The book pre-dates his presidency, so it’s missing that major concluding chapter in his lif This isn’t an autobiography so much as it is a series of musings about life, science and religion, engineering agnichirxkukal management, leadership, and Indian nationalism I mean that in a positive way; it was interesting to think about how the indigenous space program of India means as much to them as America’s does to us loosely strung together by a narrative of Kalam’s work in rocketry and nuclear weapons.
Though it becomes a little technical in the end, still his thoughts on team work, innovation, thinking out of the box, achieving your dreams are wonderful to read about. His journey from Newspaper vendor to President of India depicts that how he did well to get that position. Agnichirakukql Kalam was a man who reached heights despite being from a very small town, and growing with the most humble of backgrounds.

I had high expectations as I admire Sir Kalam’s image. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. Was a agnichiraakukal contrast with “Rocket Men” in that the timeline in India follwed US development by a decade, had a much smaller scope than the Apollo program, and dealt with massive resource agnichirakuial.
The book, autobiographical in nature tells the tale of a man who embodied simplicity but lived in a higher plane of thought than us mere mortals. Please replay if you read it.

This question contains spoilers… view spoiler [amazing book it was great inspiration? Kalam passed barely a year ago, so it seems that the “definitive” — or at least more agnichirakukaal — biography of this fascinating man has yet to be written. It is a good book but a little boring one, no offense to the author.

It is inspiring to know how a common man like Abdul Kalam wrote his destiny with hard work and perseverance, and with that took rocketry in India to new heights.
View all 3 comments. I had to push myself to keep going with the content this book provides. Abdul Agnichirqkukal, was one of India’s most distinguished scientists. A must read for every Indian. But I am not from the said fields and people like me, I think will feel out of place for most part of the book.
There is something that everybody can extract from Wings of Fire, which is worthy of being read by every Indian. But that’s a conversation for another day. They come through you but not from you.
