Le Combat ordinaire, tome 2: I’m not sure if this is autobiographical or not, but the complexity and nuance of the characters makes me feel like it is; it’s tough to get away with characterization such as that in this book without it being based on reality. It’s a jarring juxtaposition, but it works well and reminds me of some of the techniques Seiichi Hayashi used in Red Colored Elegy. I’m now heading over to the next book, containing the Larceneh version of parts three and four.
