This book is almost too good. After the publication of my book in Chinese, quite a number of missionaries asked for an English edition.
Examples have greater value than precepts, because precepts are abstract, while examples are precepts carried into effect. Aug 26, Dave Borders rated it it was amazing. If we try to eliminate examples from Christianity and leave only its precepts, then we have not much left.
May I remind my readers that the book is not intended to be studied in a hypothetical way.

Watchman Nee was an amazing man as well, as I learned reading a biography. Christianity is not only built upon precepts, but also upon examples. A search on the word, dwell, would search for dwell, dwelling, dwelling’s, dwells, dwelt, and dwelled. It is natural, therefore, that these things have been the burden of our ministry. There is depth that is understandable; something not always found.

Definitely not a light-reading type of book. Jon, thanks for your comment on the post. It is having burdens. Nee is encouraging, intelligent, and deep as he discusses what the normal Xn life should look like. We must not try to die to our sin but realize that we are in fact already dead to it. Admittedly, it is a bit difficult to relate to Watchman Nee for two reasons: One could say the material is elementary to the Christian faith; it is – and as such shouldn’t be lightly skimmed or assumed any more than one’s multiplication table in elementary school.
